Willie "Pearl" (Jessie Mae) Baker entered into enteral rest on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, in Miami, FL. She was born to the late Mr. Adam Vogt and late Mrs. Julia (Ashby) Vogt on August 31, 1935, in Vance, SC. 

She attended and graduated from Roberts High School in Holly Hill, SC. Upon finishing school, she was united in marriage to the late Bennie Lee Baker, Sr. who preceded her in death. After having their first child, they relocated to Miami, FL.

Her lifelong companion and friend, Willie Allen, preceded her in death on October 11, 2017.

At an early age, Pearl accepted Christ joining and being baptized at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church by the late Reverend Wine. After relocating to Miami, FL, she joined Greater Sweetfield Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend J. L. Sanders, singing in the adult choir and later serving on the usher board.

Pearl loved and had a great impact on all of the children that she came in contact with daily. She will be remembered for her welcoming, kind, meek, and humble spirit. her sound advice was "always use your own mind, not anyone else's and most importantly, always try to live right and treat people right. In return, God will always make a way for you.'  

She is survived by her four living children Bennie Lee Baker, Jr., Daryl (Tami) Baker, Craig Baker, Sr. (Sandra), and Tammie (Haskell) Baker-Holman; her youngest son Glenn Baker preceded her in death; twelve grandchildren Xavier, Trista, Gina, Shawn, Tameka, Dominique, Davone, Brittany, Craig, Jr., Jasmine, Ashton and Daejah; nine great grandchildren Zay'Onna, Jamariez, Drake, Harmony, Natalie, JaMiyah, Jahzara, Amarah, and Anthony; one brother William Vogt of Miami, FL; two sisters Victoria Dewberry of Atlanta, GA and Julia "Clara Mae" Vogt-Webb of Miami, FL; two sister-in-law Mary Vogt of Cross, SC, and Eula Baker of Vance, SC; long-time friend who she considered a sister Orrie "Pat" Daniels of Orlando, FL; siblings that preceded her in death were Adam Vogt, Jr., Douglas Vogt, George Vogt, Robert Vogt, and Annie Vogt-Mitchell; nieces and nephews who were like her sons and daughters Anthony "Tony" (Brenda) Vogt, Willie Mitchell, Bruce Dewberry, Leonard Vogt, Sharon Jones, Debbie Dewberry, Donell Robinson, Jr. and Robin Bryant; great nieces and nephews who she loved dearly Rashida Jones, Tori Wilson, Kiomi Jones and Kiomi Hughes. Her best friend Josephine Ellis, St. Matthews, SC. She also leaves behind a host of loving relatives and friends.
