Obituary

Mr. Willie Goodwin, the son of the late Peter Goodwin, Sr., and Rebecca R. Goodwin was born July 7, 1945, and entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, in St. Matthews, South Carolina. 

Willie was educated in the Orangeburg School District. He obtained additional training and skills at Job Corp in1967, in the area of Carpentry/ Building construction.

Willie never married, however, he is the father to one daughter, Gwendolyn Michelle Nelson. The relationship that they shared was fostered by love and much support.

Willie was the big brother of the family and was fondly referred to as "Bubba". He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and four brothers: Nathaniel Goodwin, Peter Goodwin, Al R. Goodwin, and Karl Richard Goodwin.

He is survived by his daughter, Gwendolyn (Lamont) Nelson, Brothers; Rev. Charles E. (Sylvia) Goodwin, Darrell (Sonya) Goodwin, Grandson: Frederick Rashaud Wright, Great granddaughter; Sofia Mechell Wright, and sisters-in-law; Rose Goodwin, Gloria Sanders, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Please adhere to all COVID--19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home.  Masks are required at all times.
