William Johnson Obituary

Deacon William McKinley Johnson the son of the late Joe and Rosa Lee Nesbitt Johnson was born July 18, 1952. He departed this life November 11, 2020.

He grew up in Eutawville, South Carolina and was educated at Robert High School, Holly Hill, South Carolina. He attended Unity Baptist Church and accepted Christ at an early age. He met the love of his life Doris Whitten in New York City and married November 23, 1974. They shared a bliss union to this union two beautiful daughters were born. Kizzy Michele Johnson and Karen Marcy Johnson both of Staten Island, New York. He was employed by Wakefield Corporation and retired due to disability. 

He and his family became members of Fellowship Baptist Church of Staten Island, New York under the leadership of Rev. Arthur D. Phillips. He attended faithfully for many years. After the passing of Rev. Arthur D. Phillips, Rev. James H. Williams became the pastor. He continued to attend faithfully. He served on many ministries, Usher Board, Sanctuary Choir, Male Chorus, Trustee Board, Pastor's Aide, Sexton, and the Transportation Department which he enjoyed most of all. He was ordained as a Deacon on December 30, 1990. He served faithfully until his health began to fail. William loved the Lord which was demonstrated through the service he rendered. 

He leaves to cherish fond memory his wife Deacon Doris Johnson of the home (2) daughters Kizzy Michele Johnson, Karen Marcy Johnson (4) grandchildren Kevon Michael Johnson, Joshua Khaleb Johnson, Kimora Mortese Johnson, adopted granddaughter Leeyanah Samuels. His (3) sisters Emma (*Joe) Broughton, Eutawville, SC, Rebecca (*Sam) Davis, Orangeburg, SC, Shelia (*Bernard) Rivers, Moncks Corner, SC, (3) brothers Richard (*Emma) Johnson, Mooresville, NC, Clarence (*Pearl) Johnson, Eutawville, SC, James (*Ruth) Johnson, Summerville, SC, Freddie Johnson, Columbia, SC. Proceeded in death Raymond and Rosa Bell Robinson (sister). (3) brothers-in-law Rev. Leon (Lottie) Bradley, Uniondale, NT, Gloria (Richard) Washington, Eutawville, SC, Lucille (Tommy) Houston, Birmingham, Al. Host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. (1) Spiritual daughter LaVette Harris. (2) Godson Lawrence Teasley, and Nelson Archibald (1) Goddaughter Monica Reid. (2) Special friends Nate Gillens and David Brown, Jr. *Deceased
