Walter McNeal Griffin, Sr.

Walter McNeal Griffin, Sr, 86 of Holly Hill, South Carolina. Transitioned to be with The Lord on April 25, 2022, at his home. Walter was born March 26, 1936, in Holly Hill, South Carolina.  Walter was the son of the late A.B. and Freddie Mae Griffin. He was preceded in death by one son, Allen Benjamin Griffin. Walter attended the Orangeburg County Public Schools. Walter joined Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church at a young age.  He worked in Newark, NJ, and Detroit. Michigan before returning to Holly Hill, SC where he worked as a truck driver until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, and basketball. He also loved his children and grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife Georgia Mae Griffin, Children; Sheila (David) Pendarvis of Columbia, SC; Freda Griffin-Brown of Columbia, SC; Walter Griffin of Holly Hill, SC; Cynthia Griffin of Vance, SC; Frederick Griffin of Holly Hill, SC; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law Catherine (William) Myers of Holly Hill, SC, and Beatrice Davis of Eutawville, SC along with a host of relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
