Verlee "Knute" Rush was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on January 23, 2022 at age 74.
She was born to the late Agnew and Jessie Jenkins on June 26, 1947. She was educated in the public school system of Orangeburg County and worked for Ramada Inn hotel for many years. She was a devoted church member of Refuge New Calvary Church.
Verlee had a special love for people and they loved her back. Her hobbies of choice were fishing and cooking. This was evident by her going fishing and then having a community fish fry.
On November 2, 1965, she married Louis Rush of Holly Hill, South Carolina. This union was blessed with four girls, one of whom, Arlene Rush, preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories: three loving daughters, Audrey (Richard) Green of Plantation, Florida, Mariah Williams of Boston, Massachusetts, and Lora (Phinazee) Brown of Loganville, Georgia, two brothers: Randy (Chrissy) Jenkins of Vance SC, Minister Joseph (Rutha) Jenkins of Eutawville, SC, one sister: Elizabeth Sumter of Vance, SC, one brother-in-law, eight sister-in-law, one Aunt Jessie Small of Holly Hill, SC, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four special friends: Gloria Williams, Annabelle Bradley, Judy Wright, and Eula Grant, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
