Shanekwa Necole “Neeka” Jenkins, the beloved daughter of the late Richard and Bertha Jenkins was born February 28, 1978 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She transitioned to her heavenly home on April 16, 2020 at MUSC Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina.
Neeka attended Orangeburg County School District Three. She was employed by DJ’s Transportation for seventeen years; Neeka loved her job and her clients.
Neeka had an enormous love for family. She took the saying, “It takes a village to raise a child” to heart. She helped so many family members with their children, she was so patient. She was a kid at heart and so humorous. Neeka did whatever it took to keep her family happy and laughing, even if it meant dressing up in a costume and portray a funny television character. Neeka would take the shirt off of her back, if you needed it. She was so supportive; at family events, the fun did not begin until Neeka arrived.
Neeka leaves to cherish her memories: Her loving sisters: Sally Ann Middleton, Annie Ruth Fuller, Roberta (Larry) Ramsey and Thomasenia (Dea. Harry) Hicks; loving brothers: Frank Jenkins, Luther (Nancy) Jenkins, Joseph (Deloris) Jenkins, Melvin (Mary) Jenkins, Willie Lee (Racheal) Jenkins, Tony Jenkins, Bruce (Vivian) Jenkins, Sr. and Adrain Jenkins; her loving and devoted friend, John Tilley; two nephews who she took as sons, Dameon and Dominique Bryant; Godson, DaJuan Ramsey and a host of extra-special nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
