Obituary

God gave Rosella 74 years on this Earth so we remember, we celebrate, we laugh and we cry, and let us not forget to Give God the Praise.

Rosella was born in Eutawville, SC on September 5, 1948, to parents Henry and Thelma Washington (deceased). She made her heavenly transition on March 14, 2023, at 12:17 AM.

Rosella came to NYC in 1955 and attended elementary school in Harlem, Cooper JHS, Julia Richmond HS, and George Washington HS, where she began her  Nursing and a Major in Respiratory Therapy at Borough of Manhatten Community College for which she was licensed.

she worked at Columbia Presbyterian, Bronx Lebanon Hospital, and Terrence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Facility alongside her mother Thelma Washington. She later worked at various nursing homes in New York City and Westchester County.

Rosella met and wed Mr. Errol B. Green in Harlen, NY in 1968 and two children came from that union; Dawn and Mateen who gave them three grandchildren: Kiandra, Travis, and Myani.

Rosella never stopped believing in family, life, and God. She attended Springfield Baptist Church in Eutawville, South Carolina, Springfield Baptist Church in New York City, and Seven Light Baptist Church in New York City. She also attended Mosque #7 in Harlem.

Mom had a spirit where she would love on you all day and then later that night cuss you out because she had enough... her favorite saying was "Chile Please" and "Put God First", she loved reggae, the Caribbean Islands, and music overall.

She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Louise Washington, aunts and uncles: Alberta Carlton, Wilhemenia Wright-Bannister, Alice Blanchard, Joseph Wright, Ralph Davis, Belle Wright, Father-in-law, Wilbert Green.
