Richard Pinckney's Life Reflections
Mr. Richard "Boobie" Pinckney, son of the late Sampson "Strongman" Pinckney and Martha Green Pinckney was born on March 19, 1955, in Cross, South Carolina. He departed his earthly life on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital in Summerville, South Carolina.
Richard better known as "Boobie" was also called The Grill Master because of his ribs. He held many job titles such as carpenter, mechanic, and construction worker. If he could learn it, he could do it. His most recent job was for PPM at Santee Cooper for 10 years.
Boobie attended Central and Cross High School and graduated from Cross High School with the Class of 1975. Boobie was a member of Jehovah A.M.E. Church.
In his free time Boobie enjoyed fishing, dancing, and especially cooking and feeding others. He was definitely an entertainer. Boobie also had a passion for fashion. You would often see him in his sharp suits, cowboy boots or Stacey Adam shoes. And don*t forget he would wear his bandana and hats.
He was preceded in death by William Pinckney, Nancy Ferguson, Rosalee Witherspoon, Wesley Pinckney Sr., Abraham Issac Pinckney, and Sam Pinckney; and Dameon Green.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories to: four children, Kenyarda Green, Marquita Green both of Cross, South Carolina, Donte Green of Goose Creek, South Carolina; and Shnadriene (Curtis) Gross of Miami, Florida; seven grandchildren, Ava, Eric, Imani, Amar, Shavarria, Amarian, and Angel; one godchild, Ariel Spann; two brothers, Jessie Pinckney of Miami, Florida and Fishmond Sanders Sr. of Cross, SC; four sisters, Martha (James) Spann, Mary R. Pinckney, Amelia P. Davis, and Rubysteen Major all of Cross, South Carolina; his devoted friend for many years, Antoinette Green; close friends, Paul Nesbitt and Rev. John Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
