Rebecca Butler Jenkins, the daughter of the late Daniel Butler and Katura Butler, was born on May 7, 1948 in Cross, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on January 31, 2021. Rebecca grew up in Cross, South Carolina and was educated in the public schools in Orangeburg County.
She became a member of Johnson Temple COGIC at an early age where she attended until she became ill. Rebecca worked as a secretary at Gillard Primary School at an early age, and later became a licensed Real Estate Agent for a short period of time. Rebecca was united in marriage to Gerald Jenkins on March 11, 1971. To this union, two children were born.
She leaves to cherish memories of her: her husband, Gerald Jenkins; two children, Spencer (Chiquet) Jenkins of Summerville, SC and Natasha (Bill) Cooper of Chicago, IL; her mother, Katura Butler; three grandchildren, Kalil Jenkins, Kamauri Jenkins, and Savanah Cooper; three sisters, Neomia (Peter) Lee, Nancy (Ronnie) Beard, and Felicia (Milton) Miles; four brothers, Tommy Middleton, John (Geraldine) Butler, George (Patricia) Butler, and James (Teresa) Butler; Stepchildren, Donald (Sandra) White and Christina (Joe) Shuford; brother-in-law, Elias (Vernell) Jenkins; sisters-in-law, Emily (Harold) Harris and Gloria Jenkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
