Peggy Smith, 73, of Cross, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. On June 15, 1948, she was born to the late Joe and Bertha Lee Wigfall.
Peggy or Bummie as her family affectionately called her graduated from Central High School in 1966. On June 6, 1970, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late, Henry L. Smith. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Unity Baptist Church in the early 1970's. Peggy was a very active member in which she sang in the mass choir # 2, missionary, and advisor to the young adult choir. Peggy was employed at Walmart for over 25 years.
Peggy had a great personality and a smile that would light up a room. She will always be remembered for her sweet kind spirit and her love for people.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her siblings, Lila Mae President, Sarah Nkramuh, Mizell Hall, Henry (Althea) Wigfall, Kay Francis Scott, Joetta Mack, and Isiah Wigfall; her in-laws, Hattie (Fred) Morton, Betty (Steve) Marion, Joseph (Albertha) Smith, Geraldine Smith, Helen (Stephen) Marion, Sheila (John) Watkins, Veronica Davis, James (Vivian) Ellis, and Faye Richardson; stepchildren, Anthony and Rico Martin, Henry Moody, and Terrica Jenkins; adoptive children, Joseph (Marixsa) Wigfall, Adrianne Lambright, and Desmond Rollins; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
