Ms. Pearl Rivers, the daughter of the late Bossie Jenkins and Eloise Gibbs was born April 12, 1928 and departed this life on Monday, February 3, 2020.The late Pearl Rivers moved to New York to pursue a better life. Pearl was employed by Rockefeller University and Public School 21, in New York City. Pearl ‘s dream was to retire and return to her birth place of Eutawville, South Carolina; which she accomplished.
Pearl Rivers met and married Willy Rivers (deceased) in New York on June 11, 1949. God blessed this union with six boys. Sister Pearl was a member of St. James Baptist Church where she served as an active member on the missionary ministry and Gospel Choir.
Pearl leaves to cherish her memories, her sons and their spouses; Eugene “Sonny” and Antonia Rivers, Melvin “Irving “Rivers (deceased), Thomas “Tommy” Rivers (deceased), Morris Rivers, Lawrence and Miranda Rivers, Quentin Rivers and Goddaughter, Symone Johnson. Grand children; Patrina Rivers-Hodges (Harrison) (deceased); Everette and Audrey Rivers, Melvin Rodrick and Mehgan Rivers; Marcia and Deshawn Watson, Nyree and Christi Paul and ; Deanna and Elliot Brown, Meir Perry, Lawrence Jr. and Natasha Rivers, Melvin “Justin” and Melissa Rivers, Anthony and Crystal Rivers, Derrick Grantham, Kareem Grantham, Chardale Rivers, and Alexis Rivers. Eugene ”Juney”Rivers Jr. (deceased), Ebony Rivers (deceased) Lanelle Rivers (deceased) 25 Great grands and 17 Great Great grands and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
