Paul "Pop" Gibbs, Sr.

Mr. Paul  "Pop" Gibbs, Sr., departed his earthly home on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Eutawville, South Carolina on August 25, 1943, to Edmond and Eleanor Gibbs.

Paul Sr. attended St. James Elementary School in Eutawville, South Carolina, and Roberts High School in Holly Hill, South Carolina. He was baptized at Saint James Baptist Church.  In 1962, he journeyed to New York City where he met and married his loving wife, Dolores, of 57 years. To this union, four children were born, and a daughter, Sylvia, preceded him in death.

Paul Sr. was employed at Gouverneur Gardens Housing Corporation until he retired in 1993. In 1995, he returned to Eutawville, South Carolina. Upon his return, he renewed his membership at Saint James Missionary Baptist  Church where he sang with the Male Chorus.

Paul Sr., leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Dolores of the home; his children, Paul Jr. (Diane) of Middletown, DE, Darren (Lajuan) of NewYork, New York, and Sharon Salisbury (Allan) of Middletown, New York; one sister, Sarah of Eutawville, South Carolina, two brothers, Jaccie of NewYork, New York, and Elias of Charleston, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Cherrelle, LaQueta, Crystal, Paul,111, Andre, Cristian, Sani, and Celeste; six great-grandchildren, Mekhi, McKenzie, Mia, Honor, Mckhi, and Gavyn; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
