It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Ora Broughton, 82, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina who transitioned, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at her residence.  Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home. 

Ora Lee Broughton Life Reflections

Mrs. Ora Lee Broughton is the daughter of the late Rev. Paul A. Washington and Caroline Zoll Washington. She was born on June 20, 1942, in Cross, SC, and entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, in Moncks Corner, SC.

Ora grew up in Cross, SC, and attended the public schools there, graduating from Central High School. She attended Zion United Methodist Church. She moved to New York in 1963.

 In 1967, Ora was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Willie Broughton. To this union, two children were born.

Over the years Ora worked in various positions. She migrated back to the South in 2010 where she joined Bread Of Life Ministries. Ora was blessed with an outstanding personality and an uplifting spirit that touched many individuals. Ora wanted individuals to live a carefree and comfortable life. Her love for her children and others was superb.

Ora is preceded in death by her siblings: Queen Hester Washington, Melvin Washington, and Waymond Washington; and a daughter, Gardenia Washington Young.

Ora leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her passing her children Leonard Washington, Anthony Broughton, and Vivienne Broughton; grandchild, Jahrid Broughton; siblings, Laura M. Simmons, Juanita W. Richburg, Johnell Washington, Deacon George (Debbie) Washington, and Evangelist Barbara White; in-laws, Leon (Inez) Broughton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
