A Time to Be Born
The life of Deacon Odell Holman began in Holly Hill, South Carolina, on May 24, 1954, to the late Elder Adam "Mix" Holman and Eva Simmons Homan.
A Time to Learn and Serve
Odell attended Roberts Elementary School and graduated from Roberts High School in 1974. He began working at Holly Hill Limber Company, ATO Construction Equipment, U.S. Plywood, and culminating with Linde Lift Truck. In addition to his full-time job, he began his own company, Holman Lawn Care. Odell retired from Linde Lift Truck in 2016 after working for 31 years with the company.
A Time to Praise
Odell was a lifelong member of Galilee Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Holly Hill, South Carolina, where he served faithfully as a member, Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee, and Deacon. He loved worshiping the Lord through songs and being a member of the Male Chorus.
A Time to Love
Odell married the love of his life, Minnie Palmer, on September 23, 1978. From this union, they welcomed three beautiful children to share in their love. Odell also loved his community by organizing community clean-ups and volunteering his time to coach Little League Baseball with the Eutawville Youth Committee League.
A Time to Die
After serving a life full of love, and being led by God; Odell found eternal rest on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, after an extended illness.
Odell is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Eva Holman, sisters Eva Moughalian, and Margaret Williams, and brothers George, Williams, and Lymus Holman.
A Time to Remember
Odell is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Minnie P. Holman, daughters Sharetha (Larry) Cooper of Charlotte, North Carolina, Lindsey (Jarron) Goodwin of Orangeburg, South Carolina, and son Elliotte (Jazmine) Holman of Charlotte, North Carolina.; grandchildren Addison Emanuel, Bailee Cooper, Mason Cooper, Aria Holman, Kinsley Holmanof Charlotte, NC., and Jordan Goodwin of Orangeburg, SC.; three sisters, Susie (Joseph) Cobb of Columbia, S.C., Lula (Harold) Samuel of Columbia, S.C., and Vernell (Winston) Lawrence of Cambria Heights, NY; brothers-in-law William (Louise) Palmer and Jonathan (LeeAnna) Palmer of Eutawville, SC, Anthony Palmer of Allentown PA; and Ernest (Barbara) Palmer of Grand Rapids, MI; Sisters-in-law Olivia Holman of Powder Springs, GA; Zadie (Larry) Brown of Eutawville, SC, and Annie (Raymond) Jenkins of Holly Hill, SC., and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
