It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Nathaniel Ravenell, 80, of Holly Hill, South Carolina, who transitioned on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina.
Nathaniel Ravenell Life Reflections
Nathaniel (Toot) Ravenell, the son of the late William Ravenell, Jr., and Miley S. Ravenell was born January 4, 1944, in Holly Hill, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Trident Medical Center in Summerville, South Carolina.
He was reared and educated in the public school in Holly Hill, South Carolina. Nathaniel was a graduate of Roberts High School Class of 1964.
At an early age, he joined the Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully on the Ushers Ministry and the Trustee Ministry.
On January 24, 1970, Nathaniel was united in holy matrimony to Betty Lou Holman. This union was blessed with two children.
He was employed at US Plywood Company in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Elloree Veneer, Elloree, South Carolina and Morton Plastics, St. Matthews, South Carolina.
Nathaniel leaves to cherish his precious memories, wife Betty Holman Ravenell, of the home; one daughter, Shane Elizabeth Ravenell of the home; two sons, Patrick O’Neil (LaKeysha) Ravenell of Summerton, South Carolina and Bobby Goodwin of Orangeburg, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Perrion Ravenell of Holly Hill, South Carolina, Tyrell Jamal Vincent of Santee, South Carolina, Jahbari Jahleel Goodwin of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Saraica Jones of Charlotte, North Carolina and Emeral Jones of Summerton, South Carolina. Two sisters, Beatrice R. Hilliam and Carolyn (Rennie) Ravenell, both of Holly Hill, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Mildred H. Jenkins of Eutawville, South Carolina; two brothers-in-law, John Williams, Jr. of Miami, Florida and Isaac Jenkins of Eutawville, South Carolina. One uncle, Johnnie B. Smalls of Holly Hill, South Carolina, two long-time friends, Willie “Red” Mack of Orangeburg, South Carolina and Fergurson Green of Santee, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
