Mother Minnie Mae Davis was born November 16, 1938 in Holly Hill, S.C., to the late Freddie & Minnie Lee Butler. The Lord called her home on Tuesday, March 30th 2021. Mother Davis grew up in Holly Hill S.C. and received her education at Central High School in Cross, S.C. She also attended Briner Christian Church in Holly Hill S.C.
She met and married the Late Deacon Willie Davis and moved to New York City, where she work for the Board Of Education as a Secretary. She was a faithful member of The Way of the Cross Church in New York and served on the choir and on the Missionary Board. In 2002, she retired and moved back to South Carolina and lived in Eutawville, S.C. She worked as a Secretary for the Sheriff Department for the Town of Vance, S.C. She also worked as a secretary for the Education Department in Holly Hill S.C. She was a member of Refuge Temple in Holly Hill, S.C., where she served on the choir and continued her work as an Missionary and on the Board of Mothers.
Mother Minnie Davis proceeds her husband in death, the late Deacon Willie Davis and those who cherish her memories: Her children, Shelby (Shedrick) Jefferson of Ridgeville, S.C., Deborah (Tim) Rivers of Summerville, S.C., Will(Sonja) Davis Jr. of Summerville, S.C., Larry Davis, Atebca Davis, and Mecca Davis all of Orangeburg, S.C. Two sisters, Fredenia(Glasford) Dixon of N.Y., Arlene(Douglas) Footman of Harveyville, S.C. one brother, Fred Butler, One sister in law, Joan Perry and one brother in law, Joseph Johnson, all of N.Y. 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces & nephews, Godchildren, and friends, who loved her dearly.
