Mary Lee Brown

Ms. Mary Lee Brown, the daughter of the late Johnny W. Brown and the late Isabella Brown was born on June 1, 1946 in Orangeburg County, South Carolina. She departed this life on Thursday, February 20, 2020.

She grew up in Eutawville, SC and attended the public schools there. She lived in the Bronx, New York up until her passing

In 1966, Mary began her employment at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY as a Dietary Nutritionist and was there until she retired in 2009.

Mary was a very caring and generous person. One could always count on her as she always thought of others and lent a helping hand when and wherever needed. She had a special love for her family and friends, and it was certainly reciprocated. She will be dearly missed.

Mary had two children one of which preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her fond memories: her son, Michael R. Brown of Bronx, New York; her daughter-in-law, Selena Davis-Brown; four sisters, Betty Gethers of Union City, NJ, Eliza Ferguson and Ruth Brown both of Eutawville, SC, and Shirley (Josh) Dailey of Holly Hill, SC; seven brothers, Richard (Hattie) Haskell of Eutawville, SC, James Brown of Columbia, SC, Harry Lee (Mary) Brown of Eutawville, SC, Michael (Jeanette) Brown of Eutawville, SC, Jim Brown of Eutawville, SC, Johnny (Angela) Brown of the Bronx, NY, and Freddie (Kim) Brown of Gadsden, AL; four grandchildren, Keyshawn M. Brown, Megan L. Flemming-Brown, Samarian D. Brown, and Dekerian C. Brown; a godson, Jason J. Dailey; five sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, three aunts, one uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends.
