Mamie Lee (Montgomery) James, 71 of Clarksburg, WV (formerly White Plains, NY) departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV. She was born June 11, 1950, in Vance, SC. Mamie was the daughter of the late Walter Montgomery and Maggie Wright Montgomery of Yonkers, NY.
Mamie retired from Westchester Medical Center in, Valhalla, NY where she worked for more than thirty years. She was a role model for many family members and friends and was known for her giving spirit. Mamie was an active member of the choir, Mother’s Board, Deaconess Board at the First Community Baptist Church in White Plains, NY under the direction of Pastor Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her father Walter Montgomery, paternal grandparents Harry and Celie Montgomery, maternal grandparents Van and Quinnie Maggie Wright, cousin (more like a sister) Celia Mae Montgomery, and sister-in-law Lou Ella (Stella) James.
Mamie is survived by ex-husband and life time friend Archie James of Clarksburg, WV, her beloved son Dorian A. James and wife Sherri James of Clarksburg, WV, granddaughter Jasmine Dobbs and fiancé Anthony Harper of Norristown, PA, great-grandchildren Zaylen and Nova Harper of Norristown, PA. brother Walter Montgomery and wife Edna of Bronx, NY, sister Marie Strand and husband Ronald of Tuckahoe, NY, sister Ella Jamison and husband Fred of Vance, SC, brother Charles Montgomery and wife Jackie of Atlanta, GA, sister Linda Gibbs and husband Ronald of Charlotte, NC, sister Silvia Montgomery of New York, NY, sister Valles Montgomery of Nanuet, NY, sister Yvonne Montgomery of Nanuet, NY, sister Josephine Rivers of Orangeburg, SC, four aunts, two uncles, special niece Michele Williams, sister-in-law Patricia (Vern) Frost and husband Charles of Yuma, AZ, Flory (Pearl) Kennedy and husband Everett of Goose Creek, SC Beatrice White and Husband James of Vance, SC, Wallace (BJ) James of Yonkers, NY and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends will be received at the Eutawville Community Funeral Home, 440 Porcher Ave, Eutawville, SC from 9:30 AM-10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. A graveside service will be held at Solid Rock Outreach Ministries Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Bishop Donald Howell Sr. officiating.
