It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Luis B. Gonzalez, 79, of Holly Hill, SC, who transitioned on Friday, September 19, 2025, at MUSC Health Orangeburg, Orangeburg, South Carolina. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home. Masks are recommended, but not required. 

Luis B. Gonzalez Life Reflections

Luis Braulio Gonzalez, son of the late Isidora Gonzalez and Patria Diaz, was born on January 4, 1946, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. He departed this life on Friday, September 19, 2025, at MUSC Health in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

At the age of 7, Luis moved from Puerto Rico to New York. He attended the public schools of New York. He worked at the Empire Hotel in the kitchen as a fry cook. In 1994, he met the love of his life, Levane Galland.

July 7, 2005, they relocated to South Carolina.  Luis loved watching wrestling, and he loved walking in the rain. He loved watching the New York Yankees and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife, Levane Galland Gonzalez of the home; his children, Luis Gonzalez and Sasha Gonzalez both of Bronx, NY; two grandchildren, two sisters, a special niece, Janice Barnes of Eutawville, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, other relatives, and friends.
