Lillian Kenner Obituary

 Lillian Belle Briggs Kenner was born August 21, 1948 in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Aroy Abrams and Susie Briggs. She was called home on June 18, 2020 to be with the Lord.

In 1953, Lillian’s mother and step-father George Irby relocated to Queens, New York. She went on to attend Public School (P.S) 95 for elementary school, P.S 217 for middle school and Jamaica High School in New York. In 1965, she met and married Frank Kenner. She had 5 children. She was a stay at home mother until all of her children got older. She worked at the Post Office and was a caterer at the airport. She was baptized in 1973.

In 2002, Lillian relocated to Cross, South Carolina to be closer to her daughters. She was a member of Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an usher.

Lillian loved to read, dance, cook, paint, and arts and crafts. She loved people and talking on the phone. She loved to laugh out loud! She loved her family and family gatherings. She loved going to church and listening to gospel music. She was the proud grandmother of 14 grand-children and 15 great grand-children.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are: two sons, Mr. Tommie Martin (Mary Ann) of San Antonio, Texas, Frank Kenner of North Adams, Massachusetts, three daughters, Veronica Rock (Keith) of Cross, South Carolina, Lillian Rembert (Kevin) of Cross, South Carolina, and Joy “Nikki” Kenner of Goose Creek, South Carolina. Fourteen grand-children, Kaijuan Ruiz, Crystal Dimond (Forest), Tommie Martin Jr., Brandon Martin, Jasmine Allen (JaCorian), Jaquan Allison, Laniesha Smith, Kieshana Rock, Akeem Kenner, Ryan Rock, Maya Kenner, Michael Green Jr., Zaida Kenner and Naveah Kenner. Sixteen great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Michael Irby and Ben Irby. Seven sisters, Nannie Serrano, Daisy Graves, Carol Garcia (John), Melinda D. Johnson, Dr. Debra Lee (James), Monica Shaw (Rev. Bruce), and Monique Palmer (Melvin). A host of loving step-children, nieces and nephews. Along with devoted friends, relatives and church family and friends.

Lillian was preceded in death by her mother, Susie Briggs. Her father Aroy Abrams. Her step-father George Irby. Her brother, Willie Irby.

Her body left this Earth, but her spirit and legacy will always remain, she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A private funeral service and burial will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020, 10:00am at the Belvedere Cemetery, Eutawville, South Carolina.
