Leroy Middleton Life Reflections
Mr. Leroy Middleton, son of the late Sam Uley and Rosana Dingle Middleton, was born on April 7, 1940. He silently stole away from his earthly life at home on July 27, 2024 after a long and courageous battle against cancer.
Leroy, affectionately known as Flea, was educated in the Berkeley County school system. He relocated to Greensboro, North Carolina shortly after completing his education and began to build a life there. He started a career in construction and later became employed by Southern Iron Workers from which he retired after many years of dedicated service. Upon retirement he moved back to South Carolina intending to live out his golden years with friends and family. Leroy lived quietly and preferred the simple things in life. He was not someone who was hard to please and can be described as a gentle soul with a sweet spirit.
Family was of great importance to him and he LOVED spending time with his siblings, nieces, and nephews. Going fishing was a favorite pastime of his and he was delighted to bring others along. Leroy was often content with pulling up a chair and engaging in lively conversations with friends and family. Young at heart, he was extremely fond of riding around town and shooting the breeze while enjoying the scenery. Leroy was an active and intricate part of the Middleton Family, whom he loved dearly, until his health began to decline.
He was BLESSED to have caring, supportive and attentive nurses who faithfully remained with him until his transition. He was truly GRATEFUL for and APPRECIATED them!
Those left to cherish the gift of his memory are: his three siblings, Alice (Lester) Phillips of Columbia, SC, Martha Brown of Moncks Corner, SC, and James (Dorothy) Middleton of Columbia, SC; his caregivers along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
