It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Leroy Gaillard, 69, of Holly Hill, South Carolina, who transitioned on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at MUSC Health Orangeburg. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home. Masks are NOT required but encouraged.
Leroy Gaillard Life Reflections
Leroy Gaillard, affectionately known as “Roylee” was born July 26, 1954, to Leon and Catherine (Galloway) Gilliard. Roylee transitioned on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 after an extended illness.
Roylee grew up in Holly Hill, South Carolina, and attended Roberts High School in Holly Hill, South Carolina. Roylee attended Job Core in Texas where he studied Masonry. Roylee started working in 1986 with his father in-law installing septic tanks, and in 1988 he took over the family business that he continued doing until his health declined.
Roylee was baptized at an early age at Briner Christian Church where he became an ordained deacon, served on the Usher Board, and was a member of the Male Chorus. Roylee later joined New Way Church House of Ministries Worldwide, where he served as a faithful member.
Roylee loved joking around with his family and friends, some of his favorite things to do were singing and playing the guitar.
Roylee was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Catherine Gilliard; his son, O’onda Jenkins; a brother, Tommy Lee Gaillard; and a sister, Patricia Gilliard.
Roylee leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Sherley Gaillard of Holly Hill, South Carolina; three daughters, Latrel Walker of Sarasota, Florida, Wakiyda (Lacra) Jenkins of Holly Hill, South Carolina, and Stella Gaillard of St. George, South Carolina; four brothers, Michael (Eartha) Gilliard, James Gilliard, Joseph Gilliard, and Ricky Gilliard all of Holly Hill, South Carolina; one sister, Sharon Bell of Holly Hill, South Carolina, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and Jamass Brown.
