LIFE REFLECTION
Laura Mae West Funderburg was the daughter of the late John and Annie Mae Gillens West, was born October 16, 1947 in Santee, SC. She departed this life on Wednesday, March 03, 2021.Laura graduated from Roberts High School in 1966. She went straight in the work force. She was employed at Hardee’s in Santee and later transfer to Hardee’s in Holly Hill as General Manager until she retired from Hardee’s. Laura also enjoyed cooking for her siblings and friends.At an early age, Laura joined Unity Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithful as an usher until her death.She was preceded in death by two brothers: Carl Edward West, Robert Lee West and both parents.
Laura’s life will forever be cherished with precious memories from her love ones: three brothers: John West Jr of Santee, SC; Leroy (Rosena) West of Orangeburg, SC; Willie James (Mary) West of Santee, SC; two sisters: Barbara West (Morris) Ravenell of Eutawville, SC and Sandra (James) Williams of Orangeburg, SC. A sister in law: Rebecca West of Santee, SC; three aunts: Evelyn Gillens of Eutawville, SC; Elouise Gillens of Eutawville, SC and Avon Gillens of Aiken, SC; one uncle: Deacon Thomas West of Orangeburg, SC; two special friends: Helen Wright of and Lurine Mazyck both of Santee, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will not be accepting visitation at the home.
In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, a mask will be required and follow social distancing protocols.
