Linda Marie Washington, daughter of the late Richard and Marie J. Washington was born on November 17, 1950, in Cross, SC. She gained her heavenly wings, said goodbye, and transitioned into her eternal rest on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Linda was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. She attended and graduated from Central High School in 1969. She furthered her education at Claflin College. After college, she relocated to New York. She was employed at Federal Reserve Bank in New York for 30 years. After relocating back to Cross, SC she became employed at Trident United Way. Linda was also a member of the Cross Community Center Committee. Linda was our “go-to” person if there was an answer, she would find it.
She was preceded in death by her son, Reginald Washington; grandson, Chavon Washington; two sisters, Shirley Halls and Mae L. Cameron; and three brothers, Fred Washington, Jerome Washington, and Harry Lee Wigfall.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her significant other, Herman Ramsey; siblings, Elizabeth (James) Shaw of the home, James JP (Terry) Washington, Leonard Washington of Cross, SC, and Janet Brown of Eutawville, SC; six grandchildren, Jaheim and Iyana Washington of Eutawville, SC, Shanice and Regginald Washington Jr. of Cross, SC, Monae Glover of Columbia, SC and Melik Johnson of Cross, SC; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Washington of Cross, SC and Brenda Wigfall; nieces and nephews, Michelle Washington of Johns Island, SC, Leesa Washington of Greenville, SC, Charles Washington of Virginia, Kenneth Washington of Cross, SC, Keith (Charlene) Washington of Cross, SC, Frederick Washington of Summerville, SC, Neeah (Gaslyn) Chery of Brentwood, NY, Harry Wigfall, Jr., Anthony Tony Halls, and Krystle Wigfall of Cross, SC; 16 grand nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
