Mrs. Kimberly Lajaun Brown, 52, wife of Nelson Jerome Brown Jr., peacefully transitioned on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at her residence in Cross, South Carolina. Mrs. Kimberly L. Brown was born on July 25, 1970, to David M. Staten and Deborah S. Murray in Washington D.C.

Mrs. Kimberly L. Brown was a Healthcare Management & Educational professional for over twenty years. She pursued her formal education, in 2001 and she received her Associate of Science in Nursing from the College of Southern Maryland. In 2002 she successfully fulfilled the Maryland Board of Nursing requirements and was approved as a Licensed Registered Nurse. In 2004 she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and in 2009 she obtained a Dual Master of Science in Nursing & Business Administration / Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix. Mrs. Kimberly L. Brown had a diverse career within the healthcare industry, she worked as a Registered Nurse per-diem in various hospital inpatient assignments in the DMV metro area. She was a Registered Nurse I, II, III, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, Research Nurse, and Clinical Nurse Manager with the Children’s National Hospital Health System. She was a School Nurse with the Maryland Prince George's County Public School System. She implemented the Lead Nurse and Clinical Operations Manager-Pediatrics position for Kaiser Permanente. She was an Ambulatory Clinical Practice Manager at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She was an Assistant Director / Unit Manager for ProMedica | HCR ManorCare in Hanahan, SC. In 2018, Mrs. Kimberly L. Brown found her passion when she gained employment as Nurse Faculty with ECPI University – Charleston, SC Campus. Within two years she ascended to Assistant Director of Nursing of the Practitioner Nursing Program and the Director of the Practical Nursing program. Throughout her tenure with ECPI, she had the opportunity to mentor, cultivate and produce the next generation of nurses for the State of South Carolina. Mrs. Kimberly L. Brown was a Licensed Registered Nurse for the South Carolina Board of Nursing and a CPR & First Aid Instructor for the American Heart Association. On March 11th, 2021, the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing inducted Mrs. Kimberly L. Brown into the Honor Society as a member of the Gamma Omicron at-Large Chapter, Charleston Southern University – Medical University of South Carolina – The Citadel.

On March 22nd, 2019, at 10:00 AM, Kimberly underwent a private marriage ceremony with Nelson Jerome Brown Jr., from Cross, SC at the Orangeburg County Courthouse, SC. Kimberly is survived by her husband Nelson Jerome Brown, Jr., her daughter Bianca Day - Upper Marlboro, MD, and her son Timothy Bloxson - Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
