Keno McKayhan's Life Reflections
Keno Ali Mckayhan was born on October 12, 1975, in Bronx, NY at Bronx Lebanon Hospital to Barbara Mckayhan (nee Nesbitt) and Earl Mckayhan Sr. He gave us his last big smile on July 21, 2025.
Keno is survived by his mother, Barbara Mckayhan; his daughter, Vanessa Mckayhan; his grandson, Mauryce Keno Evans-Williams; his sisters, Deidra Corde-Rose, Ashley Mckayhan, and Darlene Mckayhan; his brother, Earl Mckayhan Jr.; his nieces and nephews, Chauncey and Chelsea Rose; and his long-time partner, Maryann Joyner. He also leaves behind many loving aunts and uncles.
A proud native of the NYC area, Keno embarked on a new chapter in the Raleigh, North Carolina area where he started as an administrator and logistics coordinator for Iron Mountain. He eagerly completed his associate’s degree at The Chef’s Academy concentrating in culinary arts, receiving many Dean’s List awards. He ultimately became an exceptional chef and kitchen manager.
In the 49 years that Keno lived, he was so many things to so many people. He was a son, a brother, a dad, an uncle, a nephew, a student, a teacher, and even a prankster. Keno's dedication and kindness left a profound mark on those around him, and he is the reason many are the way they are today. Keno truly had a heart of gold, always looking out for others, lending a listening ear and never hesitated to borrow your ear either.
Keno’s spirit will always live on in our hearts and in our memories, as he would respond with, “Indeed.”
