It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Gaillard, 70, of Eutawville, South Carolina, who transitioned on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at his residence. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home. Masks are recommended, but not required.
Joseph Gaillard Life Reflections
Joseph “Smokey Joe “Gaillard, son of the late Deacon Charlie and Georgia Mae Middleton-Gaillard was born on February 12, 1955, in Eutawville. He attended St. James Elementary and Roberts High School.
At an early age, he was baptized at Spring Hill Baptist Church where he served as a trustee. During his high school years, Joe was a defensive end football player where he gained his nickname “Smokey”. He was also a trombone player with the school band and a school bus driver. He graduated with the class of 1974.
Joe was a man of many talents and held various positions in the community and with employment. Joe has been the community bicycle fixer, a furniture deliverer, a farmer, a brick mason, and a pitcher for the Blue Star baseball team. Joe has been known to have a love for his 1967 Chevy Impala. Joe has been employed in the industrial field with Brown & Root, Schick Steel, and Georgia Pacific.
Joe met and married his beloved Patricia Ann Fuller on February 10, 1982. From their union, they were blessed with 1 son and 4 daughters.

Joe was proceeded in death by his parents, Deacon Charlie & Georgia M. Gaillard; his son, Warren A. Waring; and siblings, Maggie, Victoria, Richard, John Henry, Thomas “TB”, Harry (Tom), William, and John Wesley “Hump.”

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 43 years Patricia of the home; daughters: Audrey, Tomicia, & Joann Gaillard all of Eutawville, SC, & Latasha Steele of Waco TX; grandchildren: Kendric, Zeyaajahne, Keontray, Miajah, Quadrick, Antonio, Terry, Harell, Malik, Makayla, and Kyle; great-grandchildren: Englynd, Lyndon, Arielle, Krown, Amir, and Zanyra; mother-in-law: Mrs. Frances Fuller; sisters: Susanna Richburg of Columbia, SC, Mrs. Kittie Asbury of Vance SC, Ethel (James) Rowell of Mattapan, MA, and Mrs. Dorothy Gaillard of Elloree, SC; brothers: Charlie Gaillard Jr. of Brooklyn, NY, Leroy (Alma) Gaillard of Columbia SC, George (Paula) of Piscataway, NJ, and Jerome (Carolyn) Gaillard of Orangeburg, SC. Joe also leaves Eight sisters-in-law, ten brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
