It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Joan Ethel Wilson, 85, of Holly Hill, South Carolina, who transitioned on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at her residence. The family will be receiving friends and family at the family residence from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM daily. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home. Masks are recommended, but not required.
Joan Ethel Wilson Life Reflections
The late Joan Ethel Wilson was born on September 17, 1940, in Allendale, SC to John and Geneva Martin. She departed this life on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at her residence.
She grew up in Allendale, SC and later moved to Holly Hill, SC where she went to Roberts High School, where she met her husband, the late Woodrow Wilson and they later moved to Warrenton, Virginia where her and her husband resided for 4 years, then Woodrow's job transferred him to Upstate New York where they raised their 7 children.
Joan worked at Oneonta Job Corp in Oneonta, New York for 10 plus years as a receptionist.
Devotedly she was joined in holy matrimony to the late Woodrow Wilson, and this union was blessed with 7 children.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Woodrow Wilson; two daughters, Germaine Pringle and Gwendolyn Ramos; and one grandson, Zachary Tyler Hanzalik.
Joan Wilson is survived by five children: three daughters, Priscilla (Roosevelt) White, La-Tean-ya Wilson, and La-Sita (Neal) Wilson-Hanzalik and two sons, Derome (Kim) Wilson and James Darold (Jennifer) Wilson; one brother, Johnny (Diane) Martin; a granddaughter of the home Katilyn Ramos; two sisters-in law, Evelyn Martin and Marie Martin; fourteen grandchildren. and a host of great-grandchildren, host of friends and family members who she loved and cherished dearly.
