It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Jimmy Shaw, Sr., 64, of Vance, South Carolina, who transitioned on Saturday, November 30th in Summerville, South Carolina. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home. 

Jimmy Shaw Life Reflections

Mr. Jimmy Shaw, Sr., beloved son of the late Mr. Edward Shaw and Emma Jane Shaw, was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, on December 13, 1959. He entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 30, 2024, in Summerville, South Carolina.

Jimmy grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ at an early age. He was raised in Vance, South Carolina, and attended the public schools in the area. He began his career in construction with Banks Construction Company and continued with Sanders Brothers Construction, Lane Construction, before retiring from Rea Construction Company.

In August 1982, Jimmy married Ms. Gardenia Vogt Barnes, and their union was blessed with three beautiful children. Although the couple divorced in February 1994, Jimmy’s love for his children and grandchildren remained strong throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Mr. Edward Shaw, Jr. and Mr. Harold Shaw; and a sister, Ms. Annette Gaines.

Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory his loving children: Constance Shaw, Marquieta (Tracy McCants) Shaw, and Jimmy (Laqueria Collier) Shaw, Jr.; he is also survived by two brothers: Anthony Shaw and Frank Shaw; one uncle: Richard Shaw; eleven grandchildren: Trevonte Elmore, Davonte Britton, Shaniyah Britton, Travona Elmore, Taleia Elmore, Jayon Shaw, Jasmyne Shaw, Jayda Shaw, Jamya Scott, Trinity Briggs, and Honesti McCants; five great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Troy “Bubba” Shaw; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
