Jacob "Chief" Sanders, son of the late Derry and Sibbie Sanders, was born February 28, 1931, in Berkeley County community of Cross, South Carolina. He went peacefully into eternal rest on April 29th, 2023. He was the Fourth child of eight siblings, Five preceded him in death, Robert Sanders, Lucille Gadson, Rosalee Johnson, and Mary Ella Foster.
Jacob grew up in Cross, South Carolina community and attended the public schools of Berkeley County. Jacob was employed with various construction companies. He was a jack of all trades. Jacob "Chief" was the first DJ in Cross and surrounding areas. He invented the DJ on Wheels and Mechanic on Wheels.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony on August 15, 1960, to Annie Lou Bradley, the Love of his Life for 63 years.
Those who will cherish his memories are his devoted wife, Annie Lou Sanders, and his children: Shirley (Charles) Matthews, Nathaniel Spann, Wendell Gilliard, Zack "Donnie"(Paula) Bradley. Brother: Silas (Louisa) Sanders. Sisters: Evelyn Richardson and Wilhemenia Spann. Brother-in-law: Ronald Bradley, Vernon Williams, Sister-in-law: Betty Baily, Ann Bradley, and Marie Jackson. A host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Goddaughter: Loutrisha Johnson Davis; A special family: Sam Pinkney and family and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
