Jacob Johnson, Jr.

Jacob Johnson, Jr., was born on September 19, 1956, to the late Jacob Johnson and Albertha Mack Johnson in Cross, SC. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at the Oakbrook Health and Rehabiilitaltiation Center in Summerville, SC.

Jacob was educated in the public schools in Berkeley County and graduated from Cross High School in 1975. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to the former Susan Glover. This union was blessed with five children of which two preceded him in death.

Jacob never met a stranger and was well known to many in the Cross Community. His passions were driving trucks, fishing, hunting, and all things outdoors but most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.

Jacob is preceded in death by his parents, his sons Jacob and Isaac Johnson, and his brother Robert L. Johnson.

He leaves to cherish fond memories with his wife Susan Johnson of the home; two sons, Travis Johnson (Lavonia) of Moncks Corner, SC, and Byron Johnson of Greenville, SC; one daughter, Alissa Johnson of Cross, SC; one brother, Harry Johnson (Sharon); four sisters, Lucy Dingle, Annette Haskell (Rev. Earthly), Victoria Eddington (Kenneth) and Julie Robinson (Joseph); mother-in-loves, Lillie M, Simmons, and Annie M. Thompson; eight grandchildren: Latekqua Hunley (Eric),  Andrea Washington, Germaine Houston (Alexis), Travone Johnson, Travondra Johnson, Juelz Harrison, Byron Johnson, Jr., and Jer'Saih Johnson; six great-grandchildren; uncle, Paul Mack (Frances); aunts, Bessie Covington (John), Annie Mazyck (Earnest), Jannett Bradley (Robert), Dorothy Ferguson and Ella Mack; brothers-and sisters-in-love: Henry Middleton (Isadora), Ezekiel Middleton (Laura), Hannah Middleton, Rozell Wright, Whilamena Ferguson, Rev. Sam Glover (Margaret), John Simmons (Carolyn), Cleveland Simmons (Wynetha), Louis Simmons, Lucille Richburg (Lee), Celie Patrick (Rev.Samuel), Brenda Simmons and Dollene Ramsey (Lester);and a host of nieces, nephews, andother relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving family and friends at 633 Silversand Road, Cross, South Carolina, 29436, from 12 PM until 8 PM daily. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home. Masks are required,
