Isiah Heyward

Mr. Isaiah Heyward, son of the late George and Bessie Heyward, was born on February 8, 1956, in Garnett, South Carolina. Isaiah entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 16, 2023, at his residence in Holly Hill, South Carolina.

Isaiah joined the Lovely Hill Baptist Church of Holly Hill, South Carolina after moving to South Carolina several years ago. Isaiah enjoyed walking to service on Sunday mornings with his son, Isaiah (Ike).

Isaiah grew up in Newark, New Jersey where he received his education until approximately age 17 when he then left school to help his family after the passing of his dad

Isaiah was preceded in death by two brothers, Sim Saleem and Faruq Saleem; and three sisters, Bernice Jackson, Altamae Lloyd, and Georgia Mae Heyward.

He leaves loving and fond memories to be cherished by his daughter, Marvella (Anthony) Greene, and son, Isaiah Mendez, both of Holly Hill, South Carolina; one brother, Muhammad Saleem of Newark, New Jersey; three sisters, Madalean McClaughlin and Rose Marie Heyward of Newark, New Jersey, and Clara McClaughlin of Middlesex, New Jersey; one aunt, Margarie Watts of Newark, New Jersey; three grandchildren, Xaramia (Mia), Anthony (Tony), and Abigail (Abbie); and a host of nieces and nephews. The family is receiving friends at the residence of his daughter: Mrs. Marvella Greene, 8927 Old State Road, Apt# C-6, Holly Hill, South Carolina, starting Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM daily. Masks are required
