It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Isabell Washington,96, of Eutawville, South Carolina, who transitioned on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at MUSC Heath Orangeburg. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home.
Mother Isabell Washington's Life Reflections
Mother Isabell Washington, daughter of the late Mr. Ruttledge and Rebecca Washington was born on November 2, 1927, in Eutawville, South Carolina. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at MUSC Orangeburg. She grew up in Eutawville, SC, and attended the public schools there.
Isabell was a member of St. James Baptist Church and a member of the Usher Ministry, Missionary Ministry, and a former member of the Christian Aid, and Burial Aid Societies.
She was united in marriage to the late Floyd Washington Sr. and to this union ten children were born.
Isabell is preceded in death by her sons: Ruttledge, Wesley, Edward, and Willie Washington; one daughter, Martha Washington; two sisters, Ester Wilson and Lilly Tudy; one brother, Addre Washington; one grandson, Derrick Washington; and special friends, Katie Simmons, Rosa Clinton, and Margaret Goodwin.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her daughters, Marydoll Mitchum, Racheal Gadson, Rebecca, and Rhoda Washington; one son, Floyd Washington all of Eutawville, SC; one sister, Mary Hudson of New York; one nephew, Edward Washington of Holly Hill, SC; twenty-seven grandchildren, Victor, Damion, Devon, Benita, Tamika, Drenea, Ruttledge Jr., Monique, Theresa, Torrance, Natasha, Aurora, Kelther (Kim), Shiwamna, Shaniqua, Brenda, Antonio (Shakelia), Lashaun, Lajuan, Trina, Jolanda, Edward, Eddie (Taneel), and Eunisa; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Ella Mae Gibbs, and a host of other relatives.
