Hercules grew up in the Santee and Vance Communities where she was affectionately known as Squeaky to her family and friends. She was educated in the Orangeburg County public schools, where she graduated in 1975 from Roberts-High School in Holly Hill, South Carolina. Hercules was dedicated to any task at hand, whether it was family, friends, or career related. In fact, she had two careers until her untimely death. She was employed for many years with Indian River School District as a Teacher’s Assistant and Florida Baptist Retirement Center as a Dietary Aide, both in Vero Beach, Florida.
During her early life, Hercules attended Live Oak African Methodist Episcopal Church, in Vance, South Carolina, until she relocated to Vero Beach, Florida. In Vero Beach, Florida, Squeaky made a life for herself; a life that she was proud of and brought her many memories.
Hercules was united in marriage to Tommey Lee Stinson. This union was blessed with two children.
Mrs. Stinson was a God-fearing, strong, caring, loving, and fun person. She truly enjoyed life. She was a fabulous cook and gracious hostess who enjoyed entertaining. She was a conversationalist with a great sense of humor. Her mind was as sharp as her heart was deep. She will truly be missed, especially by her family and loved ones. She has left impressionable memories upon all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Lee Gadson, a brother, Roosevelt Sumpter, a sister, Dorothy Macham, and a granddaughter, DaKota Baker.
