Elliott White, Jr. Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Elliott White, Jr., 88, of Vance, South Carolina, who transitioned on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home. Masks are NOT required but encouraged when visiting the family and funeral home.

Elliott White, Jr., (affectionately known as Junior) was born in Vance, SC on March 26, 1935, to the late Minnie and Elliott White, Sr. He was called home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2024, at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Health Orangeburg, in Orangeburg, SC.

Elliott attended Orangeburg County Public Schools, then joined the United States Navy where he served as a Flight Deck Technician.

Elliott's working career began as an employee of Banks Construction in Charleston, and Campbell Soup Company in Sumter, SC, where he retired after 25 years. He then became employed with OCAB in Orangeburg, SC for 7 years, in which he gained his second retirement. Later, Elliott became a newspaper carrier for the The Times and Democrat in Orangeburg, SC. 

Elliott had a passion for farming. He was known throughout the community for the different crops he harvested, especially hay and sweet potatoes. He continued his passion for farming until his health began to deteriorate.

Elliott grew up in a household with thirteen siblings. Nine of his siblings (Estelle Devoe, Isaac White, Sr, Janie James, Minnie L. Bryant, John Henry White, Ruthie Brown, James White, Infant Elliott White, and Willie White) preceded him in death.

Elliott leaves behind to always and forever cherish his memories his loving wife of 64 years; Lula D. White; two daughters- Cheryl W. Hall of Vance, SC, and Jennifer (Caldwell) White Guinyard of Hanover, MD; three sons, Stanley White of Chapin, SC, Dwayne White of Hampton, GA, and Craig White of San Diego, CA; three sisters, Annie L. Clinton and Lucille Ricks, both of Eutawville, SC, and Mary L. Warner of Vance, SC; three sisters in law, Minnie Capers of Miami, FL, Libby Wright of Orangeburg, SC, and Hannah White of Eutawville, SC; one brother in law, Paul Wright of Eutawville, SC; seven grandchildren, Rhonda White of Vance, SC, Angela Hall of Los Angeles, CA, Erika White of Hanover, MD, Tamia White of Augusta, GA, Cherish Fuller of Vance, SC. Caldwell J. Guinyard and Gabriell Guinyard of Orangeburg, SC; special nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
