Mr. Cornelius Hall, Sr., affectionally known as "Cuz", a beloved husband, father, grandfather, soon-to-be great-grandfather, brother, and friend, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in Atlanta, GA.
Cornelius Hall, Sr., was born in Eutawville, SC on August 8, 1950, to the late Willie Hall and Matilda Wright-Hall. Through the years he would tell people that he was born at midnight on August 8th and August 9th, that way he could celebrate his birthday twice!
At an early age, Cornelius accepted the Lord as his Savior and was baptized at Unity Baptist Church, by the late Reverend Cowan. Cornelius spent his formative years within the Orangeburg County School System, later graduating from Robert High School in 1968. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Air Force in 1969 with an occupation specialty of Military Police. This decision would afford him the opportunity to travel the world. He was stationed overseas in England for a number of years before leaving active duty. He proudly served in the South Carolina National Guard and the Air Force Reserves until he retired on January 4, 1996.
On August 31, 1974, Cornelius married the love of his life, Rosa Lee Washington. To this union, four children were born. His quest for advancement didn't stop there. In 1979, Cornelius went on to graduate from South Carolina State College, now University, with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education.
In 1979, Cornelius and Rosa moved from South Carolina in search of career opportunities in the big city of Atlanta, GA. He held several positions from industrial education teacher to construction worker, before becoming an electrician. His work ethic was unmatched, He lived by the motto, " if a man don't work, he don't eat!" Cornelius enjoyed working various property management companies in Atlanta because in his words, " it's not hard work!" Cornelius would often speak of retiring as if he could leave at any time. He would often tell his children and grandchildren that he's been working since he was a kid!
In August 2019, he finally clocked out of work for the last time at Jones Lang LaSalle after many years of dutiful service. Cornelius loved living his life with no regrets. He enjoyed watching college sports, country westerns, Judge Judy, fishing, listening to old-school music, and spending time with his family and friends but only when he wanted to!
Cornelius is now resting in heaven with his parents, siblings, Clayton Hall, and Delores Hall-Beran, along with brothers-in-law: Francis, General, Fred and Andrew Washington, John Smalls, and Elijah Gillens. Sisters-in-law: Viola Middleton, Lillian Heirs, and Laura Mae Washington.
Cornelius leaves to cherish his sweet memories: his devoted wife of 50 years, Rosa Lee Hall, daughters: Valecia (Rafael) Johnson, Forsyrg, GA, Tanisha (Clifton) Banks, McDonough, GA, LaShanda Hall, McDonough, GA, Adele Johnson, Melbourne, FL and son, Cornelius Hall, Jr., Stockbridge, GA.
