It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Charles Christian Okoye Howard, 33, of Cross, South Carolina, who transitioned on Sunday, May 14, 2023, from the result of a vehicle accident at Trident Medical Center, North Charleston, South Carolina. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home. Mr. Charles Christian Okoye Howard was born on January 20, 1990, in Charleston, South Carolina to Charles Bernard and Deloris Spann Howard. He departed his life on Sunday, May 14, 2023.

Chris, affectionately known as “ Yungsta”, was a member of Young, Fly, and Flashy. He was known as the family comedian. He loved to travel, crack jokes, and attend dog shows. Chris was a member of Jehovah A.M.E. Church and sang on the Sunbeam Choir. He graduated from Berkeley High School in 2008. He worked at CR Bard for seven years and then became self-employed as the proud owner of Dior’s Trucking Company. Chris had a love for dogs and was a well-known dog breeder as a part of A1 Bully Kennel.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Carrie F. Spann, Annie F. Gillens Howard, and Joe Louis Howard.

Chris leaves to cherish his loving memories: his mother and father, Charles and Deloris Spann Howard; a beautiful daughter who was “the apple of his eyes”, Little Miss Chandler Christian Dior Howard; two loving brothers, Mr. Deyond (Cyndia) Spann of Moncks Corner, SC and Mr. Kevin Brown of Columbia, SC; uncles who loved him dearly, Jerry (Beverly) Howell, Henry (Brenda) Howard, Christopher Rodney Howard, Ethan Kenneth Howard, Jake Spann, Leroy Spann, Jim (Naomi) Spann, Rev. Kelly Spann Sr. (Senovia), Rev. Silas (Betty) Spann, and Isaac Spann; four loving aunts, Mrs. Carrie (Roger) Milligan, Doris Pinckney, Ruby (Dexter) Hernandez, and Dr. Tomeka A. Howard, Ph.D.; two adopted uncles, Christopher Howell and Muhammad (Fran) Washington; one niece, Deyond Spann; and one nephew, Darrell Spann; the love of his life, Ms. Brittany Rollison, one Godson, Victor M. Garcia, Jr.; Godfather, Mr. Isaiah Spann; one special niece who was always there for him, Diamond Shepherd; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends who loved him dearly and will forever cherish his memories.
