It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Betty Holman Ravenell, 76, of Holly Hill, South Carolina, who transitioned on Sunday, August 04, 2024, at MUSC Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home.

Betty Lou Holman Ravenell, daughter of the late James C and Eva Lee Young Holman was born on July 9, 1948 in Orangeburg Country. She entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Medical University of Charleston, in Charleston, South Carolina.
At an early age, she became a member of Greater Unity AME Church. She later became a member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the Missionary Ministry, Pastor’s Aide Ministry, and Chairperson of the Kitchen Committee.
Betty was a graduate of Roberts High School Class of 1966. She was employed at Holly Hill Primary School, Holly Hill, South Carolina as a Teacher’s Aide; Elloree Garment Factory, Elloree, South Carolina as a Machine Press Operator; Dixie Cleaners, Holly Hill, South Carolina as a Shirt Presser, City Dry Cleaners, St. Matthews, South Carolina as the Laundry/Dry Cleaners Manager.
She was married to the late Nathaniel Ravenell on January 24, 1970 for 54 years. This union was blessed with two children.
Betty leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Shane Elizabeth Ravenell of the home; son, Patrick (LaKeyschia) Ravenell of Summerton, South Carolina; grandson, Perrion Ravenell of Holly Hill, South Carolina; granddaughters, Saraica Jones of Charlotte, North Carolina and Emeral Jones of Summerton, South Carolina; sister, Mildred H. Jenkins, of Eutawville, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Beatrice R. Hilliard and Carolyn Ravenell of Holly Hill, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Isiah Jenkins, III of Eutawville, South Carolina; aunt, Maggie Fulton of Holly Hill, South Carolina; adopted brother, Walter “Dick” (Janet) Whetstone of St. Matthews, South Carolina; special friends, Lula Owens of St. Matthews, South Carolina and Annie Davis, of Vance, South Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
