On Friday, January 29, 2021, in the early morning hour, Mrs. Bessie M. Wright, closed her eyes and peacefully entered into eternal rest at Jacobi Hospital in Bronx, New York. Mrs. Bessie M. Wright was born on March 13, 1947 in Berkeley
County, South Carolina to the late Herbert Mazyck and Rebecca Ferguson Mazyck.
Bessie received her early education in Cross, South Carolina, she met and married David Wright on January 21, 1967 and moved to Peacedale,Rhode Island. In the early seventies they relocated to Bronx, New York to raise their two children, Greta and David Jr. After 36 years of service, she retired from Bellevue Hospital as a Coordinating Manager. She was also a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she served as a faithful member.
She is preceded in death by five siblings, Raymond (Orilee ) Mazyck of Charleston, SC, Joseph (Ira Mae) Mazyck of Charleston, SC, Rosa (Saul) Ferguson, of Columbia, SC, Lucille (Earnest “Son”) Taste of Eutawville, SC, and Odabell (Robert) Taste of Eutawville, SC. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, David S. Wright; her children, Greta (Alton) Jones of Bowie, MD, David (Tameika) Wright Jr. of Rosedale, NY and Dina Monique Tapler of Connecticut; her siblings, Carrie (Henry) Bowman of Philadelphia, PA, Evelina (Eddie) Miller of Peacedale, RI, Ernest (Annie) Mazyck of Columbia, SC,Samuel (Ruby) Mazyck of Columbia, SC; eight grandchildren ,Joshua, Alicia, David Tyler, Verletta, Alton, Claudia, Christian and Marquise; three sister-in-laws, Lorraine Wright of Bronx, NY, Francis Lawyer of Eutawville, SC, Sheila (Melvin) Washington of Eutawville, SC; three brother-in-laws, Bruce(Annie) Wright of Aiken, SC, Gerald (Doris) Wright of Eutawville, SC, Paul (Libby) Wright of Eutawville, SC, nieces, nephews and a host of loving relatives and dear friends.
