Mrs. Azalee Williams, 97, of Holly Hill, South Carolina, transitioned from this life on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at her residence in Holly Hill, South Carolina. Mrs, Azalee Williams (Aunt Tina or Mrs. Tina) to many, "Us momma" to 3 originally. Born to the late Quinnie and Sammy Witherspoon on April 4, 1924, she answered the call to go home to be with the Lord on July 3, 2021 peacefully at her home.
Mrs. Azalee received her education with the Holly Hill school system. At an early age she accepted Christ becoming a life time member and mother of Lovely Hill Baptist Church where she sang on the choir and served on two boards as president for several years before retiring.
Mrs. Azalee worked as a laborer in SC fields from picking cotton, tobacco, and beans to planting pine trees across SC. After moving to New York she worked as a home health aide but of all childcare was her joy, making quilts and cooking (feeding everyone that came though her door)
A gentle humble spirit that loved the Lord and her family was her joy one of her favorite Bible scriptures "The Lord's Prayer"
Mrs. Azalee was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence "Tippy" Williams her grandson Lawrence O "Rob" Williams, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
She leaves to cherish many loving memories her daughter Mattie Brown of Holly Hill, SC; Grandson Richard Williams, Katy, TX, Granddaughter Cherise Pittman(Randy), Rocky Mont, NC 3 great grand daughters Shelisa Williams Winston-Salem, NC; Ationia Tillman Englang, UK and Linda Tisdale, Brooklyn, NY, 8 great grandchildren. 2 sisters Annie M Ohley and Ola M. White (Leroy) Both of Holly Hill, SC; special daughter Neynessna Williams. A host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
