Annie W.Gadson, the daughter of the late Mary Lee Gadson was born in Orangeburg County on July 7, 1940. She departed this life on July 7, 2022, at her residence.
She attended the public schools in Orangeburg County. At an early age, Annie W. Gadson was baptized and was a member of Silas United Methodist Church. She was a member of the gospel choir from 1975-2022. Her favorite song was, " Break Every Chain".
In 1982 she married the late Joe Gadson.
Annie was a caretaker. She also worked as a machine operator for many years at AYP in Orangeburg, SC before retiring in 2002.
Annie was a prayer warrior for the Lord. She loved praying for people and she would dance and shout for the Lord every chance she got. She wasn't ashamed of giving God the praise. The family will be receiving family and friends at the residence.
Annie loved her family. She would call them on their birthday and the first thing she would do was start singing happy birthday.
Annie loved working in her garden. She enjoyed planting corn, cabbage, watermelon, cucumber, and collard green. As soon as her vegetables were ready, she would call her family and friends to let them know a package will be delivered to them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Gadson; her mother, Mary Lee Gadson; her brother, James Lee Gadson, and her sister, Minnie Lee Oliver.
Annie leaves to cherish her sweet precious memories to her children, Leroy Washington of Cross, SC; Mary (Roger) Williams of Strousberg, PA; Betty Clinton of Bayonne, NJ; Annie Pearl Washington of Garfield, NJ; and Tony (Marcia) Halls of Bayonne, NJ. Her siblings, Annie Bell (Earnest) Bryant of Eutawville, SC; Paul Gadson, Rosa Lee Gadson, Freddie Gadson, John Henry (Beatrice) Gadson, all of Cross, SC, and Jerry Gadson, of Miami, Fl. Step-Sisters, Emma Dennis, Dequetta Carpio and Evangelist Rita Faison. One aunt, Julia Mae Gibbs of Miami, Fl. Sister-in-law, Dorothy Gadson. 17 grand, 22 great grand, and 1 great-great grand. A host of nieces and nephews and special friends. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home. Masks are required at all times.
