Mrs. Annette Waring High was born Annette Waring on December 25, 1940, in Eutawville, SC to the parents of the late Franklin Waring and Rosella Haskell Waring of Eutawville, South Carolina. On May 5, 2023, the Lord called Annette to rest.
Annette Waring married Lawton High, Jr. on April 21, 1960, and they were married for 63 years this past April.
She was a graduate of Roberts High School and worked as the Secretary, bookkeeper, and educator for 32 years, and retiring in May 1999.
In 1970, Annette Waring became a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Eutaw Chapter # 324 serving for more than 53 years. She was also a member of the Sons and Daughters of Job, Briner Lodge #122.
She grew up as a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Eutaw Springs, South Carolina. She joined Silas United Methodist Church in 1962 following her marriage. She served faithfully on the Usher Board and as Church Secretary for numerous years.
She was a loving wife and mother who was always willing to share her wisdom. Optimism was one of her greatest attributes which was shared abundantly.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather Sam Haskell, by her grandmother Eva Haskell, by her mother Rosella Haskell Waring, brother Sam Arthur Waring, Junior, beloved son Wilbur High, and Brother-in-Law Sammie Vanager.
To cherish her precious memories, Annette leaves her husband Lawton High, Jr., and sons, Wayne High (Paula), Jack K. High, Darrell High, and Gary L. High; stepson, Mr. Robert Lee Brunson (Charlene), adopted as a daughter, Carol A. High; daughter-in-law, Linda High, two sisters-in-law, Carrie B. Vanager and Pernell McCullough-Jones (Theodore); adoring grandchildren, several loving great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of wonderful friends.
