On Friday, September 29, 2023, God saw that Ada was weary, so he sent an angel to whisper in her ear, "It's time to come home."
Ada Mae Johnson Mack was born on November 2, 1938, in Holly Hill, South Carolina, to the late Leon and Mary Jane Johnson.
Ada was educated in the Holly Hill, South Carolina school system.
Ada married the love of her life, J C Mack on March 12, 1959. To this union, they were blessed with seven (7) children.
Ada worked for Cerebral Palsy of Westchester until she retired in 2010.
Ada loved her family. She was the mother of the community whom everyone loved. She always made Sunday dinner and anyone who wanted a plate was welcomed.
At a young age, she became a member of Rock Hill AME Church in Holly Hill, South Carolina. In the early sixties, she joined First Baptist Church in Harlem, New York. In June 2019, she became a member of the Greater New Jerusalem Free Church AAWW INC., in Walterboro, South Carolina.
Predeceased in death by her parents. Her loving husband, JC Mack, her daughter Joanne Mack-Francis, her sisters, Queen Jenkins and Helen Johnson, her brother, John Johnson.
Ada leaves to cherish her memory, six children, JC Mack, Jr., (Sherry), of White Plains, New York, Ernest Mack of Bronx, New York, Willie Mack (Karen) of White Plains, New York, Diane Patrick of White Plains, New York, Juanita Johnson of Mt. Vernon, New York, and Darrell Mack (Beverly) of Yonkers, New York. Stepdaughter, Ruby Allen of Columbia, South Carolina. Stepson, Larry Watson of Eutawville, South Carolina. One sister, Molly Elmore of Jersey City, New Jersey, Twenty grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. A host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren, and friends. Three bonus daughters, Ruby Palmer, Tammy Harper, and Gloria Anderson. One bonus son, James Terry.
