Willie Bennett, 73, formerly of Cross, S.C., departed this life on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Hallmark Nursing Home in Summerville, South Carolina. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the chapel at 12:00PM the day of service for viewing. The final resting place will be in Springfield Cemetery, Cross.
Friends may call and visit the residence of his sister, Emily Myers, 1276 Poplar Hill Drive, Ridgeville, South carolina, and the funeral home.
Willie was a fun-loving person who always brought laughter and joy to people. Upon graduating high school, he moved to New York City. Willie loved people and loved his family. He had an open heart and a warm inviting spirit.
Willie is preceded in death by his mother, Mary J. Brown; grandparents, Willie and Clara Bennett; and his siblings, Delores Lee, James Bennett, and Ruth Robinson.
He was a devoted friend and family member and leaves to cherish those memories to his sister, Rev. Emily (Herman) Myers of Ridgeville, SC; two brothers, Deacon Ernest (Evangelist Lula) Bennett of Ridgeville, SC and Thomas Brown of Hanahan, SC; a sister-in-law, Helen Bennett of Eutawville, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews,other relatives, and friends.
