Ruth Howell

Mrs. Ruth Davis Howell was born on August 13, 1934, the daughter of the late Agnew Davis and Rosa Hilliard Davis.  Ruth Davis Howell entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Summerville Medical Center after an extended illness.  

She grew up in Vance and attended the public schools of Orangeburg County.  She joined Rock Hill A.M.E. Church at a very early age and served faithfully until her health began to decline.

Mrs. Ruth Howell was married to the late Malachi Howell.  To this union, four children were born.  One son, Jerry Lee Howell, preceded her in death.  

She had five siblings, four of which proceeded her in death: Mattie Wright, Betty Morrisette, Wilson Jack Davis, and Readie Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Earl Howell (Dianne) of Vance, SC and Donnie Howell of Vance, SC; one daughter, Linda Howell of Vance, SC; daughter-in-law, Joann Howell of Holly Hill, SC; four grandchildren, Gerald Howell (Angel) of Vance, SC, Subreana Nicholas (Emon) of Holly Hill, SC, Earshana Howell of Summerton, SC, and Larry Howell of Vance, SC; one sister, Leatha Mae Wright of Detroit, MI; one sister-in-law, Mary Lee Fuller of Somerset, NJ, and one brother-in-law, Fortune Johnson  of Vance, SC.  She also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
