Sister Rose S. Jackson daughter of the late Eugene & Maggie M. Simmons was born June 3, 1943 in Berkeley County, South Carolina. She departed this life on Saturday, February 2, 2019.
She attended School in Berkeley County. Rose, at an early age worked at the local egg factory and was later employed at Oakbrook Convalescent Home and The Dock Restaurant. She had a love for fishing, gardening, shopping, cooking, babysitting, and sightseeing with family.
At an early age she joined Greater St. James A.M.E. Church. She faithfully attended Sunday School and church and to her health began to fail.
April 1, 1973 she was joined in holy matrimony to St. Clair M. Jackson for 45 1/2 years.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jimmy Simmons; and a son-in-law, Alonzo Bryant.
Loved ones left to cherish her memories are: her loving and devoted husband, Mr. St. Clair M. Jackson; three daughters, Sylvia Bryant, Kathleen Jackson, and Lee Grant (Robert) all of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; four brothers, Henry Simmons (Rodella), Curlin Simmons (Virginia), Clarence Simmons, and Envie Simmons all of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; four sisters-in-law, Sarah Simmons, Gertie Simmons, Zadie M. Hudson, and Sharann Mazyck; three brothers-in-law, William Jackson (Fairry), Luther Jackson, and Harry Jackson (Catherine); seven grandchildren, LaQuin Bryant (Darcel), Brittany Bryant, Brandon Bryant, Stylus Richardson, Ejaylah Smith, Shadasia Smith, and Cameron Dingle whom all affectionately called her “Grana”; one great-grandson Taurean Mouzon, Jr.; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
