Rosa E. Walley

Mrs. Rosa J. Walley, the daughter of the late Norman and Thelma ‘Kitty’ Johnson was born August 15, 1944 in Washington DC and entered into eternal rest on Monday August 12, 2019.

She grew up in Holly Hill, SC and attended the public schools in Orangeburg County. At an early age she became a member of Greater Unity A.M.E. Church in Holly Hill, SC. In 1964 she joined in Holy Wedlock to Mr. Willie Walley, to this union, they were blessed with three children. She then became a member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board, Gospel Choir, and the Cantana Choir until her health failed. Rosa was also employed at Northwoods Mall and Sweatman's BBQ in Holly Hill, SC.

She is preceded in death by two brothers and a daughter-in-law, Tracy Walley.

Rosa leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband, Mr. Willie Walley; daughter, Geraldine W. Delaney; two sons, Bernard Walley and Roscoe (Rose) Walley of Eutawville, SC; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Annie Mae Rivers of Eutawville, SC, Gail Sneed of Long Island, New York, Bernice Dash of St. Matthews, SC, Lu McNeil of Washington, DC and Deloris Walley of Eutawville, SC; one brother-in-law, Mr. Cecil 'Buck' Walley of New York; her best friend, Ann Theirse; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
