Maple Major Obituary

Mrs. Maple Major, the daughter of the late Mr. Johnny and Carrie Bell High was born April 29, 1932 in Eutawville, SC. She transitioned into her new home on Saturday, August 17, 2019.

Maple affectionately known to many as Collette and some as Jobie, grew up in Eutawville and attended the public school. She was a housewife and a caregiver, which helped to provide for her home. She was a Proverbs 31 woman working diligently with her hands taking care of her husband and children.

She married Henry Major of Cross, SC and both were faithful members of Unity Missionary Baptist Church; where she faithfully served as an Usher, until her illness did not allow her to serve in that capacity; their unity was blessed with six children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Major of Eutawville, SC, Mother and Father, Johnnie and Carrie High, Sr., two sisters, four brothers and a son, Lawrence Major and her oldest grandson, Shawn Wright of Eutawville, SC.

Maple Major, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Rena Grant of Eutawville, SC, and Ruthie Major of Goose Creek, SC; her sons, William (Pearl) Major of Morrow, GA, James (John) Major of the home, and Jerico (Darlene) Major of  Lawrenceville, GA; eleven Grandchildren: Travis Bookhart of Kentucky,  Terrelle Bookhart of GA, Shuntevia(Patrick) Regele of GA, William (Marquita) Major of GA, Taundra (Harry) Jones of SC, Brandon Grant of SC, Antoine Major of GA, April Griffin of SC. Cornesha and Cornelius Callins, and Jalen Major of GA, and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
