Lillian Brown Obituary

Lillian Brown was born August 6, 1942, in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the late Johnnie Brown Sr. and Lula Taste Brown.

She attended Central High School in Cross, South Carolina where she was a graduate in 1963.

Lillian moved to New York City after graduation and lived there for many years until she moved to Eutawville, SC in the year of 2013.

Lillian attended and became a member of Silas United Methodist Church at an early age. After leaving the South, she attended the First Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York. Returning to the South after many years in the City she joined and attended Silas United Methodist Church. Lillian loved singing and good music.

Whereas, she sang in a gospel group known as “The EveryReady Gospel Singers” of Cross, SC for many years. Also, she had a love and a passion for cooking, makes you come back for seconds. She did not participate in many things, but she loved the Lord and her family.

Early on Thursday morning, May 31, 2018, God called her home. She slipped into her eternal rest at her dear sister’s home.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Johnnie Brown Jr. and Louis Brown; and one sister, Annie L. Nathan.

Lillian leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, one daughter, and one daughter-in-law: Mark (Debbie) Brown, of Eutawville, South Carolina; Marlon Brown of Brooklyn, New York; and Cynthia Brown of Eutawville, South Carolina; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish one brother, Willie (Evelyn) Brown of Orangeburg, South Carolina; five sisters, Lillie Mae Clark of Manhattan, New York, Henrietta Gibbs of Eutawville, South Carolina, Sarah Barnes of Eutawville, South Carolina, Foser Brown of Eutawville, South Carolina, and Rev. Louise (Larry) Wright of Eutawville, South Carolina; one sister- in- law, Evelyn Brown; two brothers-in -law, Larry Wright, and Roadhill Nathan; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
