Helen Jackson Obituary

I have fought a good fight I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

II Timothy 4:7

Sis. Helen (Queenie) Dingle Jackson was born March 7, 1925 in Eutawville, SC, to the late Joe West and Bessie Dingle Clapp.  Helen accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and joined Unity Missionary Baptist Church.

Helen later moved to Charleston, SC, where she was a Domestic Worker.  She then moved to Port Chester, New York, and joined St. Francis A.M. E Church where she served on the Usher Board, President of the Junior Usher Board, and served on the Kitchen Committee. While in New York, she worked for the Life Savers Company as a Machine Operator for numerous years.

She was married to the late Esau Clinton Jackson.

Helen loved to attend church, travel, and perform activities at the Senior Citizen Center.  After returning home from New York, she reconnected herself at Unity Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Choir, Kitchen Committee, Senior Missionary Board and a faithful Sunday School Member.

The name Helen means light and Matthew 6:16 says “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.”  Her favorite hymn is “Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross.”

Those she leaves to cherish her fond memories include: her loving and devoted daughter of the home, Deaconess Annie Mae (Dec. Jacob) Rivers; a sister, Josephine West of Marion, SC; a nephew, Aaron (Wendy) Clapp, England; a niece/daughter, Gail (Stanley) Warley Sneed of Long Island, NY; and Willie (Rosa) Warley, Eutawville, SC; loving grandchildren, Carrie Lee (Frank) Morton of Eutawville, SC, Loretta (Richard) Gadson of Valrico, FL, Katina (Gary) Heyward of Rock Hill, SC, DeAndrea Jones of Columbus, OH, Dewayne Redmond, Patrick Warley, and Onshalay Warley all of Long Island, NY; great grandchildren, Desdein L.
